Travel with us to see the sunset at the end of the world, in the middle of Cape Fisterra, where pilgrims came in ancient times to watch the sun go down. Beyond, as far as the eye can see, there is only the Ocean Sea, which in the Middle Ages they called Marem Tenebrosumor Sea of Darkness, because they were afraid of the possibility of getting lost and falling into the abyss that, they believed, lay somewhere to the west. And, if you like, you can also discover the legends of this sea and the westernmost cape of Europe with our guides.

Itinerary

In this service we go directly to Fisterra, to the area of the lighthouse, to attend the natural spectacle that is the sunset in the westernmost point of Europe.

A private vehicle will pick you up at a previously agreed point in Santiago de Compostela and will return there at the end of the trip.

The stay in Fisterra is 3 hours, extendable in the case of contracting the dinner-mariscada (additional service). 

Fisterra, End of the World

Fisterra, from Latin finis terrae (end of the earth) was, for Celts, Romans and in general for the whole world until the discovery of America, the end of the world. The westernmost point of the continent.

The ancients made pilgrimages there to watch the sun die in the Marem Tenebrosum, the name they gave to the Atlantic Ocean. It was in this area that the Romans built their arae solisaltars of worship to the sun. And there, in the same area, we have erected lighthouses to guide the thousands of ships that pass the rugged and dangerous coasts of Galicia every day.

Dinner in the harbour

After sunset, we will go down to the village of Fisterra for dinner. We offer you two options: a menu based on the local seafood gastronomy or an authentic seafood platter with the best seafood of the area directly from this port.

Return to Compostela

After dinner, we will return to Compostela, where we will drop you off at your hotel or another previously arranged place.
