Day 2 | Roncesvalles - Nájera
Today we will do our first stage on foot starting in Roncesvalles, the town through which we enter Spain from France. We will walk from here to Bizkarreta, through mid-mountain landscapes with alpine meadows and forests of oak, beech and pine trees, very typical of this stretch of the Camino. We will go on to Puente de la Reina, where we will stop to enjoy the local gastronomy and visit its main monuments, the Romanesque bridge and the church of Santiago Apostle. We will transfer to the accommodation and take the opportunity to go on a guided tour of one of the most famous wineries in La Rioja.

We will begin our journey in Nájera, in the Rioja Alta region, with a quiet 15 km route that will allow us to see the change from the mountainous and wine-growing landscape to the plateau and cereal fields typical of the Basque region. We will make a stop along the Way in the town of Santo Domingo de la Calzada, to enjoy a magnificent meal and learn first-hand about one of the most interesting legends of the Way of St. James. We will transfer to Burgos where we will have our accommodation and enjoy a private tour of the main attractions of the city.
